SAMUI JAZZ PRESENTS LOU WATSON
Samui Airport, in cooperation with TAT, Amsiam Travel, Hitman Jazz AIS, Amari Palm Reef Resort and Samui Paradise Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa presented Samui Jazz Volume 4 with Lou Watson, a vocalist and pianist from the USA.
Watson lends his deep, warm baritone to self-composed songs in the tradition of classic Jazz and R&B. His music is reminiscent of velvet-voiced Nat King Cole and Johnny Hartman, mixed with the modern sound of Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross and Peabo Bryson. Held in the romantic surrounds of the Amari Palm Reef Resort, it was the first time the musician performed hits from his new album Taking a Chance Of Love in Thailand.
Samui Jazz is a monthly series organised to promote the island as a live music destination. The concerts see national and international artists perform in the beautiful environment of Samui throughout the year. The series is also a warm-up for the main event – the Samui Jazz Festival, to be held later this year. Previous performers have included Thai saxophonist, Koh Mr Saxman, Popsanova from Brazil, and Sweden’s Jonathan Fritzen.
