SUKHOTHAI AIRPORT AND TRAT AIRPORT WIN EIA MONITORING AWARDS 2008
Bangkok Airways airports in Sukhothai and Trat received two EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) Monitoring Awards – which are given to business entities best capable of maintaining environmental awareness and protection.
For the sixth consecutive year, Sukhothai Airport received the honour for its distinctive environment management, while Trat Airport took home the Excellence Award in the EIA monitoring awards category.
The presentation ceremony was held in Bangkok’s Miracle Grand, where Dumrongvoot Viriyah, Sukhothai Airport’s senior director and Piikan Phuanrod, Trat Airport’s director received the awards from H.E. Mr Suvit Khunkitti, the Natural Resources and Environment minister.

BOUTIQUE ESCAPES WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS PLATINUM NETWORK AND RELAIS & CHATEAUX
Bangkok Airways, in partnership with American Express (Thai) Co., Ltd. and leading boutique hotel group Relais & Chateaux launched a new promotion package called Boutique Escapes, which allows American Expression Platinum Card members access to a unique travel experience in five exotic destinations: the Maldives, Siem Reap, Guilin, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
At the promotion’s launch, American Express Platinum Card members had the opportunity to network and share their travel experiences with each other.
Special guests, Supornthip “Tippy” Chuangrangsri and her friends joined the event and talked about their fascinating travel experiences. The event was held at The Eugenia in Bangkok, one of three Relais & Chateaux hotels in Th ailand.

BANGKOK AIRWAYS JOINS CHANNEL 3 FOR NEW ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN “MISTER 3 – RAK PAR RAK NAM AT SAMUI”
Bangkok Airways recently teamed up with Channel 3, thaitv3.com and other partners to launch a green campaign called “Mister 3 – Rak Par Rak Nam at Samui” (Save the Forest, Save Water on Samui). Th e campaign includes volunteers and celebrities from Channel 3 including Cherry Khemupsorn and Alex Rendell.
The objective of the campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of Koh Samui’s natural resources and the environment, through activities such as dam building, coral and mangrove reforestation and releasing precious marine life into the sea.
Consistently supporting various environmental campaigns, Bangkok Airways launched its “Love Earth, Save Earth” initiative last year in conjunction with its 40th Anniversary to confront global warming and reinforce the airline’s commitment to excellent service as well as social responsibility.

BANGKOK AIRWAYS PRESENTS SAMUI JAZZ AT SAMUI PARK AVENUE
Bangkok Airways, in cooperation with Amsiam Travel, Samui Park Avenue, Singha Sports Bar and a number of hotels and resorts, recently organised the first Samui Jazz concert, featuring Koh Saxman (right) at Singha Sports Bar in Samui Park Avenue.
With the goal of promoting tourism and bringing good music to Koh Samui, the concert aims to make the island livelier and more attractive to music lovers.
The event is part of a recurring series on the Koh Samui tourism calendar, with both Th ai and international artists taking part. Sekpol Aunsamran, also known as Koh Saxman, has played with many Thai bands including reggae and ska group T-Bone. He also formed a jazz fusion band called The Funk Machine that has played across Thailand for the last decade.
The first instalment of Samui Jazz also featured artists such as Lookpud, Chollanut, Lim Thai and other young musicians.
