ON BEHALF OF Bangkok Airways, I would like to welcome you aboard ASIA’S BOUTIQUE AIRLINE and wish you a very Happy New Year.
If there is one word to describe the past 12 months, it would be “innovative†– with the introduction of new changes that have only contributed to better our services and improve the values that truly make us a BOUTIQUE airline.
Change was practically everywhere! Our home base in Bangkok has now moved to the ultra-modern Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where our new BOUTIQUE lounges include a courtesy corner, computer terminals, reading corner and kids corner to help make your travels even more enjoyable.
Furthermore, we have also introduced our new Blue Ribbon Club – a Business Class that offers more personalised service from our Blue Ribbon Club Lounge to our expanded inflight amenities.
Bangkok Airways’ other home at Samui Airport has similarly introduced its newly constructed terminals where passengers will immediately feel like they have arrived at a top-class paradise island. The fusion of modern technology with the dreamy qualities of an island bungalow sets Samui Airport apart from all others, while the spacious new facilities have the added capability to handle more passengers. The new airport complex also includes a walking street where a one-of-a-kind shopping and restaurant experience, spa services, and top-notch hotel accommodation will make Samui Airport the first-ever paradise resort airport in Asia. That is why it was internationally recognised as one of the Top Five Best Airports 2006 by Smart Travel Asia.
Our innovations do not just end there – we have also added two more destinations to our global network. The balmy white sand beaches of the Maldives now offer another idyllic escape from the cold European winter; while Fukuoka in Japan – dubbed as the cultural and economic gateway of Asia – is our new Japanese gem to complement Hiroshima. From natural beauty to cultural wonder, Bangkok Airways is committed to offering our passengers innovative vacationing hotspots.
2006 may have come to an end, but we will continue working to find new ways to best serve our passengers. In acknowledgement of our commitment towards excellence, we were recognised by SKYTRAX as the Best Regional Airline in Southeast Asia 2006; Regional Airline of the Year 2006 from the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA); and Best Regional Airline from UK’s Selling Long Haul magazine. These awards only motivate us to work harder and make 2007 an even more successful year.
With your continued patronage, we promise to live up to your expectations as ASIA’S BOUTIQUE AIRLINE.
With my very best wishes,
Dr Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth
President and CEO, Bangkok Airways
